the law of attraction and religion.

Can you wholly believe in the Law of Attraction (LOA), while harboring faith in God? I have been thinking about this today. Pardon my ignorance if this topic has already flooded the Interwebz. I have not dug that deep beyond my own thoughts on the topic. The following may even be a little vague in the intellectual realm.

As far as my own personal experiences, the folks that I have known to believe in God usually denote their successes directly to the man upstairs. On the other side, most LOA followers [that I have met] almost fully preach “The Secret” for their reasons for success. It brought me to question if the two worlds can truly collide.

It’s true. Generally, if you are a positive person, you will most likely attract other positive people into your life. If you are growing, you will typically become surrounded by others who are flourishing as well. If you are negative, you will most likely find those that will fully enjoy commiserating with you. Every now and then, negative attracts to positive, but… details. I get that. That aspect of the LOA seems fairly black and white.

However, what about when it comes to material things? Money, if you will. A large following of the LOA are entrepreneurs and the like; visionaries and so on. If we fully envision and truly believe, then our businesses will take off, we will become wealthy, and magic will just simply happen for us. Then, if we plan to fail, then we will do just that. On the flip side, there is the religious aspect. Most Christian followers put helping others, living humbly, and prayer above all. Basically, the material is not number one as a Christian, but in the LOA, we sometimes directly envision the material things. If a person prayed for money, would that looked in the same light? Would combining these worlds be hypocrisy?

Does God have power over this law? If He does, why not just claim faith in Him if the LOA is part of Him? If you are Agnostic or Atheist, do you find your faith in the Law of Attraction? Or do you see the LOA as religious and steer clear? Also, could this mean that positivity and envisioning is a higher power on its own? If so, what about God?

This is not a critique on either end of the spectrum. I happen to have a positive perspective on the LOA, and I am also a Christian. I also have more to learn on the LOA. I can see where there could be debate, and I can actually see both sides of the fence in terms of integration. I felt I could write a book on the topic as I delved in, but I need to cut this short. What are your thoughts on the integration of LOA and Christianity?

Comment below. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
